PRCS is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Deputy Director Climate Change Adaptation to join its team in Islamabad.
The Deputy Director Climate Change Adaptation will be responsible for developing and implementing climate change adaptation strategies, programs, and projects to build the resilience of vulnerable communities in Pakistan. The position will also provide technical guidance and support to the Climate Change Adaptation Department.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement climate change adaptation strategies, programs, and projects in coordination with relevant stakeholders and partners.
• Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments and identify adaptation measures for different sectors such as agriculture, water resources, health, and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement community-based adaptation programs to enhance the resilience of vulnerable communities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the Climate Change Adaptation Department and other departments on climate change adaptation issues.
• Collaborate with national and international partners and stakeholders to promote knowledge sharing and best practices in climate change adaptation.
• Develop and manage budgets for climate change adaptation projects and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
Requirements:
• A Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Climate Change, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
• At least seven years of relevant work experience in climate change adaptation, natural resource management, or environmental management.
• Strong understanding of climate change adaptation strategies, policies, and frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.
• Proven ability to work effectively with partners and stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community-based organizations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including fluency in English and Urdu.
