The British Deputy High Commission in Pakistan is seeking a Market Access and Trade Policy Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the international trade landscape, and be able to provide expert advice on trade policy and market access issues.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on trade policy and market access issues in Pakistan and the wider region, and provide expert advice to senior officials.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, business leaders, and industry associations.
• Monitor developments in trade policy and market access in Pakistan, and provide timely updates to senior officials.
• Support the British government’s efforts to promote UK exports to Pakistan by identifying and addressing market access barriers.
• Provide strategic advice to UK businesses on market access and trade policy issues in Pakistan.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (economics, international relations, etc.)
• At least 3 years of experience in trade policy, market access, or a related field.
• Deep understanding of the international trade landscape, including WTO rules and regulations.
• Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to provide strategic advice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Experience working in a government or diplomatic environment is desirable.
